Driven by a passion to create dynamic, functional and sophisticated workspaces, Canopy exists because we believe that Australian workplaces could - and should - be better.

Our Managing Director, Karl Simity, believes that “we spend too much time at work for an office to be uninspiring” - and so we set to work and Canopy was born. It is this belief that workspaces should be inspiring to the people who inhabit them that drives the team of expert designers, architects and our construction team to deliver the best bespoke office fitouts to our clients across Melbourne.

Our Passionate Team

Karl is a qualified shopfitter, registered commercial builder, has studied both drafting and design and holds a membership with Master Builders Association. Over the last 18 years in the industry, he has delivered over 6000 fitouts for happy clients both nationally and internationally.
Karl has worked on the ground, getting crucial hands-on experience in design; challenging thoughts and boundaries of what is achievable and in management, overseeing projects from inception and site selection all the way to relocation.

Growing up, Guliano was always surrounded by construction and it’s an industry that he has been working in for the past 10 years. Since accepting the role of Project Manager with Canopy, Guliano has loved being surrounded by a team that elevates his knowledge and passion for the industry. ​
With the guidance of the Canopy team, Guliano has endeavoured to bring our clients and designers vision to life, by hammering down the Canopy value of “roll up your sleeves” by getting in and getting it done.

Rohan has over 24 years in the construction industry, having worked in both the commercial and domestic fields. His skill set is vast having built a solid career in the industry - transitioning from working ‘on the tools' as a domestic builder to a commercial project manager and a project consultant.
Rohan is a qualified carpenter, holds a Certificate IV in Building and Construction, Certificate III in OH&S, and is a registered domestic builder. He is also a registered 'green living' master builder.

Sam is a passionate and skilled designer who is driven by connecting people to space and creating interiors that spark a connection to their childhood. Using natural and sustainable materials within a project is something Sam will continually push for.
Sam completed his Thesis on Contemporary Rammed Earth Design and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) (Honours), Interior Architecture from Curtin University, WA. In his time at University, Sam was chosen to mentor, lead and assist second and third year students throughout their journey through their own studies.

Beatriz is the glue of the Canopy Team, she keep us all on track and keeps all the thousands of moving parts together.
She oversees the HR duties in the office in achievement of the organisation’s vision and purpose.
Beatriz completed a Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management) at RMIT University. Coming from a HR background, she brings with her skills and a great ability in dealing with stakeholders and building lasting relationships.
There is never a task too challenging for Beatriz, her ability to multi-task and keep both the projects and contractors in check and informed is paramount to her success with Canopy.

Tori is our superstar marketing expert here at Canopy Fitouts.
She completed her Bachelor of Business (Marketing) at RMIT and is a Certified Digital Marketing Professional through the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI). With an array of talents and capabilities, Tori is across all forms of marketing both digital and traditional enjoys both the creative and analytical side of marketing. ​
Tori always takes challenges head on and thrives under pressure making her a great asset to the Canopy team.


Marketing Specialist

Heather is our creative and hardworking Interior Designer who has brought a wealth of in-depth knowledge and skills to the team.​
She has completed her Bachelor of Interior Design (Honours) at RMIT. Heather has 3 years of experience designing for the hospitality industry and carries this over all aspects of the commercial design industry. She is well versed in the importance of balancing functionality, durability and aesthetics in commercial projects.​
Heather is very understanding of her client's needs and easily adapts to many different interior design trends/ themes.​

Omar is a dedicated and passionate Project Administrator that is driven by client satisfaction.​
He has completed his Honours in Construction Management at RMIT and has been working in the commercial construction industry for many years.​
Omar is passionate about his job and enjoys helping people turn their dream into a reality. He is eager to learn and grow within the industry and takes all challenges head on.

Matthew is one of our superstar Project Manager's here at the Canopy Team. He is an efficient, hardworking and experienced member of the team.​
He has completed his Advanced Diploma of Building Design and Construction and his Diploma of Project Management. He has worked in the building and construction industry for over 10 years and 5 years at an architecture firm.​
Matthew is a great asset to the team and his work ethic and professionalism speaks volumes as he has delivered 50 incoming tenancies in 2019 alone and 23 refurbishments. He is a dedicated member of the team his continuous strive for excellence is something we value greatly.​

It’s all about the process!

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial fitout solution for your requirements and budget.


We prepare proposals based on the brief from the initial meeting where we go through and plan the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

All costs are agreed upon during this stage and the outline of the project and timelines are discussed. We organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.


We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the fitout and how it is coming together.

At completion, we conduct a handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
