Integrating Client's Corporate Colour in New Office Fit Out

Nestled among its leafy surroundings in Rowville, is the newly designed office fit out for APS Industrial. APS Industrial was formed in 2018 by the merging of two established businesses and was a result of a market needing a well organized and an industry leader to service Australia’s electrical needs.

APS came to Canopy to seek a newly designed office fit out which was able to cater to a range of staff both onsite and inter-state. What they needed were new office spaces to hold internal board meetings, trainings, conferences and product displays.

As the name suggests, an industrial pallet was implemented throughout the design of this office fit out with a strong notion towards the clients corporate colour- red. As you enter the space on the ground floor, clients are greeted with a custom ‘2-tone’ reception counter with an acoustic hexagonal feature wall just beyond. Here is where staff can hold impromptu meetings, layout plans or assemble electrical items. It also doubles as a waiting area for new clients or staff coming from interstate. 

To the right of the reception, we designed a purpose-built display and build room for the staff. We lined the walls in black strip shelving to enhance the industrial pallet and hung linear pendants over the custom high bench.

Towards the rear of the tenancy, we designed the open plan workstation area with a red and grey fabric for the acoustic dividing panels. These dividers were implemented to allow for increased privacy in this office fit out for the staff and allow for quiet working environments in the office space. To soften the space further, we implemented plants throughout the tenancy.

On the first-floor, staff are greeted with some lounge waiting furniture, a couple of meeting rooms, a conference area and the kitchen. Red was brought into the boardroom carpet which was offset by the light timber oak finish to the table. Linear pendants were carried throughout both floors to tie the levels together. Light timbers were then also carried into the kitchen finishes which were juxtaposed with heavy and dark charcoals to the chairs and pendant lights.

The first-floor is where the staff (both local and interstate) were to hold seminars and conferences, so we allocated most of the floor space for this. Greeted with huge amounts of natural light, the space is well lit and portrays the interior to appear somewhat larger. We think that looking out over a sea of green to the outside world is a perfect place to hold these meetings.

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer will meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs fitout and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial office fitout solution for your requirements and budget.


We prepare a proposal based on the brief from the initial meeting where we will go through the plan and the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

Costs are agreed upon in this stage and the outline of the project is discussed including timelines. We will organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.


We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the agreed design and look of your fitout, and see how it’s all coming together.

At completion, we handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
