Family Office Fitout
Situated in an old bluestone building in the heart of the city this fitout was always going to be exciting. Given its location the fitout really played on the fun edgy Melbourne culture leveraging the vibe from the local laneways of Melbourne. The project took 12 weeks and was an amazing transformation, the existing space was actually a two-story apartment that we transformed into this amazing office.
Working Hard Towards a Common Outcome
Projects like this where you are all working toward a common outcome for the good of the end result really gives everyone working on the project freedom to make good decisions. Given we have such a good relationship with this client built on years of working together on what must be close to 50 fitouts meant when we were doing their office, we had a huge amount of trust in each other.
Using Large Slabs
The building itself created many obstacles, the existing floor in the tenancy was more than 100mm out of level which meant we had to basically fully gut this place including the sub floor right back to bare bones, The created the perfect canvas for the fitout. This being on the top floor in a building with a tiny lift meant we had to be creative with getting materials to the floor. It was a bit of a hard slog for the team getting larger materials up and down the stairs, but all that extra effort really paid off. It meant we could get the boardroom up in two pieces, it meant we could use larger slabs of stone for the benchtops and splashbacks.
Setting The Mood
The tenancy has a full integrated cbus integration system that allows the guys to turn the aircon to the tenancy on from their phones on a hot day prior to coming to the office. The systems have multiple modes allowing them to set the mood depending on if they are having a corporate meeting or celebrating a special occasion.
