Office Fit Out and Showroom in One

A few months ago, we were given the opportunity to work with a leading a global business, Omnicell.  “Omnicell was founded in 1992 and is based in Mountain View - California. Today Omnicell operates internationally and has a team dedicated to the Australian market.” Omnicell provides software and automation solutions for pharmacy, hospitals and residential aged care facilities. Omnicell has taken the opportunity to base their Australian Headquarters in a brand new tenancy in Moorabbin allowing us to design a brand new office fit out/ showroom for them. This is a great location for the new modern office in the hub of the business park with a great street frontage allowing a large amount of exposure. 

 

A strong requirement of the office design was to align the office fit out  with the Omnicell branding. As this was to be the new Australian HQ it was vital we represented the company to the highest standard. The overall intention was to carefully design an office space that will be free flowing and easy, the specific use of technology and the certain way it is set up was critical.

The Showroom

The tenancy was to be split into two parts, a customer facing showroom to showcase their software and automation solutions for pharmacy, hospitals and residential aged care facilities. The other half was to be an office space set up that allows staff to complete their daily tasks at ease and comfort. This includes a large boardroom that is fully equipped with the latest Zoom technology to have international conference meetings, a breakout space and collaborative area were also requested.

The inspiration for the office fit out was derived from the existing U.S Omnicell Showroom spaces. Something that was very important to achieve was the consistency of look & feel to enhance and continue the strong branding throughout the office design. These showrooms consisted of light timbers, bright whites, and strong greens. Therefore this was the base to the look and feel. The goal was to be clinical but still comfortable. 

The Boardroom Table

We also wanted to incorporate a strong “Australian” stamp on the space with the interior architecture, making it feel relaxed and inviting. A key feature to this was the incredible custom made Australian Stringybark Boardroom table, built by Brown Dog Furniture here in Melbourne. The high end quality is like none other, a perfect setting for the international market to view during Zoom calls.

The joinery was carefully designed to be aligned with the branding vision, the combination of white and timber laminates with a stunning black pop through the shadowline and kicker added a high end feel while being crisp and sterile. We tied the dark streamline features in with the directional black track lighting. The track lighting is not only an aesthetically pleasing, but also highlights the focus towards the equipment in the showroom. We had to build and design the joinery to suit the sizes of the equipment to be installed. This equipment is then connected to the large flat screen ceiling hung TVs, which are used to support the information processed on the machines. Our goal was to create an easy, seamless process for the person controlling the equipment and for the customers experiencing the showroom. track lighting is not only an aesthetically pleasing, but also highlights the focus towards the equipment in the showroom. We had to build and design the joinery to suit the sizes of the equipment to be installed. The corporate colours in the branding scope included a variety of Green, the different tones were brought in through different elements in the space to coincide with who they are as a company. We strive towards our clients having the sense of achievement and recognition each day coming into their workplace and having strong branding throughout is a reminder as to why they are their and that they should be proud to be involved in such a great business. We brought these colours into the furniture, a subtle flow of green from when you enter the main doors through to the workstation dividers and break out furniture. The Omnicell Deep forest green feature walls were included to the boardroom and workstation side of the tenancy with a contrasting pop of the Omnicell Red in the collaboration area.

This was a very specific showroom according to the needs of the client. It was important to gain a clear understanding of the products and business process to ensure the office design was built specifically to match the clients expectations.The best part about completing this office fit out was reflecting on the positive outlook and change we have been able to provide for Omnicell in their Australian Head Quarters. It has been such a pleasure to be able to assist them in their growth and to give them an exciting workplace to inspire them daily.

Design Phase

Our Consultant and Designer will meet with you to discuss your business fitout needs fitout and get a clear perspective on your vision. We will discuss your requirements and what challenges you are currently facing with your workspace; whether it’s a size issue, a functionality improvement or simply a workspace update, we will work with you to find the most suitable commercial office fitout solution for your requirements and budget.

Proposal

We prepare a proposal based on the brief from the initial meeting where we will go through the plan and the look and feel of the proposed business fitout project. This is where we get feedback from you so we can proceed to the next step. We offer cost effective solutions for an affordable fitout, so your budget is always top of mind.

Site Commencement

Costs are agreed upon in this stage and the outline of the project is discussed including timelines. We will organise all relevant permits to be approved and issue you with a final Construction Set, Fixtures and Finishes Schedule and a Project Schedule.

Construction

We carefully source and recruit the right contractors for each fitout construction job. We work with our team of Designers and suppliers to ensure consistency across the look and feel of the project, and conduct weekly site visits with you so you can check in on the agreed design and look of your fitout, and see how it’s all coming together.

At completion, we handover to you after ensuring you’ve had a thorough walk through of the new space and make sure you are happy with your completed project. We continue to work with you to take care of any additional needs and ensure they are resolved in readiness for your relocation.
