Promitto is a aged care service provider, specialising in the health, wellness and rehabilitation space. Read on to see took an old grocery shop and transformed it to a lively gym and clinic in Ashburton.

When designing our fitouts, we always take into account how its user will interact with the space. At Promitto, the primary users were members of aged care facilities seeking rehabilitation services. From a functionality perspective, we had to ensure that the egress of the fitout accommodated for those that may be in wheelchairs or walkers. Similarly, we installed slip resistant flooring and made sure the fitout had sufficient ramp access where needed.

Given the limitations posed by a global pandemic, meticulous planning was crucial to the successful delivery of this office fitout project. Accounting for reduced staff and social distancing requirements, our forward-thinking projects team needed to act fast and adapt their project schedules. Our existing contractor relationships and subsequent loyalty gave us a front foot in getting this fitout completed and handed over in a safe and timely manner.

We were working with completely empty shell for this fitout, so installing an indoor pool was no small feat. To install a pool, we needed to deconstruct the roof and utilise a crane to get such a large item in. In addition to this, we had to install a new elevated floor to house the prefabricated pool and relocate plumbing and gas to ensure it was fully operational.
