A Visionary Fitout for Carrum Downs Eyecare
Carrum Downs Eyecare has built its reputation on personalised service, trusted relationships and a genuine commitment to caring for the local community. As an independent optometry practice supporting patients of all ages, the team wanted a space that reflected the warmth and professionalism at the heart of their approach.
Open, Welcoming and Easy to Navigate
The existing, outdated space no longer reflected the experience the practice wanted to provide. The brief centred on creating a calm, contemporary environment that improved flow, introduced more integrated display and storage solutions, and supported a more seamless patient journey throughout the practice.
A complete fitout refresh was in order, brightening up the space and making it more inviting for patients and customers. Every element needed to balance beauty with functionality, from eyewear displays and consultation areas through to waiting spaces and circulation paths.

Soft Curves and Subtle Movement
A defining feature of the design is the use of gentle curves throughout the fitout. These organic forms appear across joinery, open shelving, flooring transitions, banquette seating and fluted feature panels, creating a subtle sense of rhythm and movement within the compact footprint.
Clever Zoning Within a Smaller Space
More than a visual gesture, the curves help guide visitors naturally through the space, softening transitions between clinical and retail zones and contributing to a calmer, more inviting experience.
The layout was carefully planned to create distinct zones and destinations, helping patients move intuitively through the practice while improving operational efficiency behind the scenes.
From the arrival experience through to eyewear selection and consultation areas, the space supports meaningful interaction and comfort at every stage of the visit.
